Announcing Significant Improvements to the World’s Most Field-Proven and Widely-Used Portable Explosives & Chemicals Trace Detector, the ETD-3000+

January, 2010

AUTOCLEAR and Scintrex Trace proudly announce the latest model ETD-3000+. Based upon the legendary EVD-3000, the 3000+ is state-of-the-art and now ultra-sensitive. Lightweight, with a new and improved “front end,” the ETD-3000+ is a Thermo-Redox based, dual-mode hand-held unit used for non-invasively detecting explosive and narcotics vapors and particulates in vehicles, containers, luggage, or anywhere suspect.

Sampling with the ETD-3000+ is extremely simple, and it automatically displays accurate results in seconds on its LCD screen. The enhanced model demonstrates even greater sensitivity to plastics and high-vapor pressure explosives, minute traces of C4, TNT, Dynamite, PETN, Semtex, RDX, Black Powder, NG, and many chemical warfare reagents. The ETD-3000+ also identifies all ICAO taggants, such as EGDN and DMNB. Hits are confirmed and even the very low false alarm rate has been improved. Federal, Police, Military, bomb squads, customs, airport, nuclear, mail, and other facilities will have a much easier time detecting trace explosives and chemical reagents using the ETD-3000+.

With all new surface-mount electronics and enhanced software, the ETD comes with a long list of features. Unlike most others, the ETD and E3500 portable series do not emit any radiation or use any carrier gas, and does not use any isotopes. Unlike less proven trace detection units, the ETD-3000+ does not use any type of expensive or troublesome consumables easing operation and removing downtime. The included sample screens, used for analyzing particulates, are reusable. Rarely, when needed, cleaning of this unit takes only seconds and the EVD-3000+ is self-calibrating. Without isotopes and designed and built in Canada, the world pioneer in portable trace detection, the ETD and E3500 series do not require export or import licensing, or attendant delays for installation, training, or repairs. With offices and factory service throughout the world for over seven decades Scintrex leads the industry in explosives, chemical and narcotics trace detection.

Its Ottawa, Canada subsidiary, Scintrex Trace, has lead the Trace Detection sector for decades. Trusted worldwide and celebrating over 70 years of U.S. and Canadian innovation in checkpoint design and support, AUTOCLEAR and its subsidiary, Scintrex Trace, are leaders in designing and producing the broadest lines of advanced X-ray scanners, explosive detection devices, and metal/weapons detectors, which now include Dual View, Multi Energy, Backscatter, Mobile and Cargo Scanners, Walkthrough and Handheld Metal Detectors, and Vehicle EDS and NDS Trace Systems.
